On Saturday, March 5, 2011, members of the Hampton Roads community gathered at the Crowne Plaza In Hampton, Va. for First Book - Hampton Roads' 3rd Annual Read All Over Gala.  Because of this event, our organization will be able to provide more than 4,500 books to the children of Hampton Roads who need them most.

Local celebrities in attendance included Miss Black Virginia Christie Black, State Senator John Miller and 2012 Olympic Hurdler Joe Greene. 

First Book - Hampton Roads is dedicated to promoting awareness and providing the tools (books) for children who are at risk of illiteracy.  Thank you to everyone who has supported First Book and made the future of Hampton Roads brighter.  

With each ticket sold, 18 books will be donated.
